Sensirion launched failsafe versions of their SDP600 differential pressure sensor series. They allow verification of the measured values, enabling certified failsafe measurements to be performed. The pre-certified differential pressure sensors SDP620, SDP621, SDP630 and SDP631 can be easily integrated into failsafe control systems. Special test patterns can be configured enabling error checking by an external microprocessor. This allows a Class C safety level to be achieved in the measurement of differential pressure and mass flow values. The models SDP621 and SDP631 are designed for mass flow measurement while the SDP620 and SDP630 sensors are intended to output the true differential pressure values. According to the model a direct threaded connection or a standard hose connector is being used.
