Sensors in hygienic and wet areas are put to test by frequent cleaning processes, temperature shocks and changes as well as the use of aggressive cleaning agents. Available with IP 67, IP 68 and IP 69K ratings, ifm electronics’ full metal, flush inductive sensors are suitable for the food industry. Non-flush sensors with an increased sensing range of 6, 12 and 25 mm and high protection rating are also offered. The sensors also boast EN 60068-2-14 Nc compliant resistance to temperature shocks and 0 to 100°C operating temperature range. Hard tests such as a 1000-h long-term test and a specifically developed steam boiler test for leak check qualify these sensors for use in the food industry. The inductive sensors together with the IP 67/68/69K compliant ECOLAB-certified connectors of the "EVT" ecolink series provide a reliable system for highly demanding applications.
