PCIM Europe 2016 is the international leading exhibition and conference for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management. Besides more than 400 exhibitors, numerous highlights will be offered to the international specialist audience.

Special show area and Newcomer Pavilion

For the first time, TERA, the association for efficient vehicle technology of the Technical University in Graz (Austria), will present their progresses and approaches at their special show area. Since 2009, the students of the association develop energy efficient electric vehicles and were so far able to implement their expertise in the field of automotive construction successfully: They already won the world championship of the Shell Ecomarathon and set the world record for the most efficient vehicle. At PCIM Europe 2016, they will bring along a special highlight for the visitors: The research vehicle IBEX, operating on a purely electrical basis. Interesting insights into the interior of the vehicle will be provided by the inventors and furthermore, the specifically developed battery management will be introduced among other things.

The Newcomer Pavilion is another attractive feature of this year's PCIM Europe. In this area, visitors can convince themselves of the innovative strength and the know-how of new exhibitors. For the first time, 21 companies from seven nations present themselves and their solutions at this platform.

Panel discussions on future-oriented issues of the industry

In 2016, the international PCIM Europe conference again offers a diverse program at the highest level. Thereby, the three keynotes on "Overview of Wide Bandgap (GaN&SiC)", "Smart Transformers - Concepts, Challenges, Applications" and "Trends of Solar System Integration Electricity Networks", as well as the special sessions on the topics "Passive Components", "Smart Lighting" and "E-Mobility" will be special highlights.

The conference also broaches the issue of the role of power electronics in regard to important future topics like Smart Technologies or Industry 4.0, as well as their solutions. Thus, a panel discussion on "The Smart Future of Power Electronics" offers initial orientation on this topic and promises to provide interesting impulses. The panel discussion is available free of charge for exhibitors, visitors and conference attendees and thereby provides all interested experts the opportunity to be informed comprehensively on this important issue.
