Based the Beckhoff PC control technology, this modular and finely scalable CNC solution offers an optimally tailored control solution for any task, from compact dental processing centers to complex plasma cutting machines. Its scalability covers the entire control system including software, PC hardware, operating panel, communication as well as drive and safety technologies. PC hardware options include compact Embedded PCs with integrated I/O interface to industrial PCs with multi-core processors. A wide selection of control panels from basic touch panels to CNC-specific panels for machine tools for operation and monitoring are available. The EtherCAT high-speed fieldbus integrate all areas of operation including I/O, motion and safety. Conventional fieldbus or such industrial Ethernet systems as PROFIBUS or PROFINET can be integrated via EtherCAT terminals. Drive technology offered covers performance related drive solutions. These include servo and stepper motor connection in the format of a Bus Terminal as well as the AX5000 EtherCAT drive series, with up to 118 kW power, with servo motors. The scalable safety solution TwinSAFE offering covers safety I/O terminals to complex PC-based safety controllers. The new TwinCAT 3 software generation enables more efficient engineering through integration of C code in the CNC. Offering users a modular, multi-core capable control architecture with a high degree of integration for PLC, motion and CNC functionalities, TwinCAT CNC, with the option of flexible exchange of axes and spindles, allows the users to realize different functions on the same machine. The CNC comes with the expanded functionality for optimized milling cutting of free form surfaces. The TwinCAT Kinematic Transformation library enables robot kinematic systems to be mapped in software for seamless integration into the control system.
