Is Indian manufacturing ready for prime time? Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi certainly thinks so: his "Make in India" campaign lists a diverse range of industry sectors in which India has the potential to become world class. WIN (World of Industry) INDIA, which will run 10-13 December 2014 at the Pragati Maidan exhibition center in New Delhi, will give exhibitors and visitors from all over the world a first-hand look at India's current manufacturing landscape. The event showcases three topics from HANNOVER MESSE - Industrial Automation, MDA (Motion, Drive & Automation) and Surface Technology - plus CeMAT, the world leader in intralogistics. Approximately 300 companies from 23 countries, including country pavilions from China, Germany and South Korea, will participate in WIN INDIA.

India's National Manufacturing Policy, which mandates manufacturing's share of GDP grow from 16 percent to 25 percent by 2022, aims to prepare Indian manufacturers to compete globally and position India as a leading manufacturing nation. Policy goals include improving education, financing, infrastructure, and technology as well as offering incentives to attract foreign investment. Consulting firm McKinsey projects India's manufacturing sector could grow sixfold to one trillion dollars and create 90 million domestic jobs by 2025. Rising production and labor costs in China only bolster India's appeal as the next big manufacturing location.

"India is on the verge of joining the world's manufacturing powerhouses," said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG, "but Indian companies must rapidly improve in areas like product development, supply chain management and quality control. WIN INDIA is where Indian companies procure the modern machinery, equipment and products they need to be competitive and international companies investigate new investment opportunities."

Preview: HANNOVER MESSE Partner Country
India will serve as Partner Country at HANNOVER MESSE 2015 (13-17 April; Hannover, Germany). In 2006, the last time India was Partner Country, 350 Indian exhibitors and 5,700 Indian visitors participated. Considering India's renewed emphasis on manufacturing, these figures are likely to increase in 2015. WIN INDIA will feature a special display area that provides an overview of the Partner Country program India is planning.

Industrial Automation INDIA
Industrial Automation INDIA presents the latest products and trends in factory, process and industrial building automation. The exhibit program is divided into four main sectors - industrial automation systems, electrical systems, industrial IT and software, and microsystems technology - and will host such renowned companies as Beckhoff Automation, Delta, Mitsubishi Electric, Pilz, Rittal, Siemens, and Weidmueller. Industrial Automation INDIA will feature for the first time an Automation Application Park where visitors can see end-to-end automation solutions in action and learn about the products and technologies being used.

MDA (Motion, Drive & Automation) INDIA
MDA INDIA provides a comprehensive overview of products and solutions for power transmission and control and fluid power, including bearings; drives, gears and motors; pumps and valves; seals and lubricants; and compressed air and vacuum technology. Exhibitors include leading companies like Festo, HIWIN, Igus, Schaeffler, and Veljan. The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and the Fluid Power Society of India (FPSI) will organize the MDA Forum, where companies such as Argo-Hytos, Bosch Rexroth, Festo, und Lenze will discuss energy efficiency, new markets/applications, and the Indian market after the election.

CeMAT INDIA
CeMAT INDIA covers the complete range of intralogistics products and services, from loading technology, mechanical handling and traffic engineering to logistics systems and software, order picking equipment and warehousing technology. Big-name exhibitors will include Cascade, Godrej, Hercules Hoists, Jungheinrich, Kelley Material Handling, and Puma Pallet Trucks. CeMAT INDIA will also feature an Application Park where visitors can experience start-to-finish logistics solutions.

Surface Technology INDIA
Surface Technology INDIA is a one-stop shop for a broad range of industries, including aerospace, automobile, construction, infrastructure, mining, and oil and gas. Well-known exhibitors include Crest Ultrasonics, Dürr Ecoclean and Roots Multiclean.

WIN INDIA will also host the third International Purchase Managers' Summit. The 2014 event's topic, "Purchasing: The Last Gold Mine of Profits", will look beyond the transactional origins of purchasing to strategic factors such as innovation, time-to-market, and cost-competitive sourcing.
