ACE Stoßdämpfer presents the new series accessory parts for gas pressure springs and hydraulic brake cylinders. The so-called wipers protect the seals on the respective damping elements against aggressive media such as limestone, detergents and dust. They contribute towards increasing the service life and reducing operating costs. The upgradeable wipers will initially be produced in sizes GS-15 to GS-40 for gas springs and HB-15 to HB-40 for brake cylinders. Such wiper elements were only available as customised products before. With series production, the user's costs and waiting times are now being reduced. Consisting of an aluminium disc with an integrated NBR wiper ring and a cap made of soft PVC, the assembly and function of the wipers are kept simple and efficient. The accessory part is slipped over the piston rod and the cap pulled over the cylinder to fix the wiper in position. The piston rod is cleaned by the wiper when it is retracted so that the seal does not come into contact with the damaging medium. The new accessory can be supplied individually as well as in combination with the gas springs and brake cylinders. Customers can install this solution themselves on-site if it is to be upgraded. It is installed in two steps. Instructions are enclosed with each order to rule out damages due to improper handling. Customers can choose between installing the wiper themselves or having it installed in the factory for new orders of gas springs and brake cylinders. There are no additional costs if they decide on the full service offer. Stroke reductions between 7 and 10 mm result depending on the model of gas spring or brake cylinder. Developed for ambient temperatures from -20 °C to 80 °C, manufacturers who rely on the long-lasting advantages of gas springs and brake cylinders do not need to take special precautions with respect to cleanliness or room temperature.
