Optical Encoders with improved battery life

Faulhaber launches the PA2-50 and PA2-100 high-resolution, low current-draw optical encoders, available in diameters from 6 up to 12 mm. The 6 mm diameter encoder packs 50 lines per revolution and the 8 to 12 mm diameter variants pack 100 lines per revolution. These encoders are suitable for applications that require miniature motors with encoders. Optimized for the world’s smallest optical encoder, the AEDR 8400, a custom-designed code wheel maximizes the reflected light increasing the system’s efficiency and signal reliability. The usage of a low-inertia code wheel improves battery life so that the low-voltage battery applications run longer with more robust feedback signal reliability.
