ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants has introduced Mobil DTE™ 732 M, a high-performance turbine oil formulated to help power operators increase the reliability and power output of their gas and steam turbines. This product, which will be showcased at POWER-GEN Europe, is part of ExxonMobil's lubricant product line which also includes the Mobil Pegasus™ range of natural gas engine oils, designed to help power operators enhance the performance of their operations.

In extensive field trials and laboratory testing, Mobil DTE™ 732 M demonstrated the ability to enhance system cleanliness, deliver exceptional thermal stability and minimise varnish formation, all of which are critical for turbine durability and performance. Mobil DTE™ 732 M is recommended for use in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' (MHI) range of non-geared single shaft gas and steam turbines, and multi shaft gas turbines. The oil is approved against MHI's stringent MS04-MA-CL005 specification, which means it meets MHI's protection requirements for long life and high temperature turbine applications.

In addition to Mobil DTE™ 732 M, ExxonMobil will also showcase its Mobil SHC Pegasus oil at POWER-GEN Europe. Mobil SHC Pegasus has received approvals and recommendations from three Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including GE Energy-Waukesha Engines Division, OAO "Kamaz" and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. The advanced gas engine oil helps promote engine cleanliness, helping to increase engine life, reliability and greater component protection. Mobil SHC Pegasus also has the potential to reduce fuel consumption by up to 1.5 percent* and increase oil drain intervals from four to eight times that of conventional gas engine oils.

"The benefits of high-performance lubricants, such as longer equipment life and extended oil drain intervals, help to reduce unscheduled downtime and contribute to improving the safety and productivity of power operations", said Jarmo Vihersalo, Europe, Africa and Middle East Industrial marketing advisor for energy, ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants. "Our close working relationship with OEMs has helped us to launch new products that are helping power companies realise their full potential."

In 2014, ExxonMobil is celebrating its 100th Equipment Builder Group anniversary. The Equipment Builder Group, a diverse team of engineers and lubrication experts, was formed to enable ExxonMobil to work in close collaboration with OEMs, whose maintenance recommendations are a key influencing factor for industrial organisations selecting lubricants for their machinery. During the past 100 years, the Equipment Builder Group has helped OEMs in more than 150 countries to optimise the performance and efficiency of their equipment. This close collaboration has enabled ExxonMobil to develop a range of advanced lubricants which has helped to improve the performance of more than 10,000 industrial applications.
