As part of its i-Automation strategy, Omron will be demonstrating its commitment to supporting customers in the move to Industry 4.0 with demonstrations of its latest robotics and automation solutions at two key events happening this Autumn.

Hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia Fair

On 3 - 5 October 2017 at MCH Messecenter Herning, Omron will attend the Hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia Fair. At the Omron stand (Hall E, stand 4012), visitors will be able to learn more about Omron’s latest robotic solutions for advanced manufacturing. These innovative displays include a demo where two autonomous, driverless transport systems move independently between working cells. These robots feature integrated navigation and movement controllers plus software-based map generation, that allows them to safely navigate a defined work space without the need for specialized infrastructure. Other demos will highlight safety, automated optical inspections and panel solutions. These demos demonstrate how Omron can create flexible production facilities for customers, to help them stay competitive and prepare for the future.

Brand-new Nordic Automation Center

Omron has also invested in a brand-new Nordic Automation Center, which will be officially inaugurated at a grand opening ceremony on 26 October 2017. The facility gives customers from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland access to engineering and technical resources in one centralized location. It also creates a dedicated local site for showcasing the company’s technical capabilities, as well as serving as a university-style laboratory where customers can collaborate, test and explore Industry 4.0 solutions.

Opening ceremony

The opening ceremony will show how manufacturers can get ready for the ‘digital factory’. This will be brought about by combining robotics with AI, a key trend being adopted in manufacturing. Professor Anders Kofoed-Petersen, Deputy Director at the Alexandra Institute and a specialist in AI, will be giving a talk on the subject at the opening. In addition, there will be presentations on the Flexible Factory, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and Industry 4.0.
