FLIR Systems introduced the GF77, which is a methane detection camera designed for gas inspection professionals. This handheld camera enables to see invisible methane leaks and other industrial gases at natural gas power plants, renewable energy production facilities, industrial plants, and other locations along a natural gas supply chain. The leaks can thus be more quickly identified to help avoid product losses, better protect the environment and create a safer work environment.

Spectrally filtered, the GF77 improves visualization, while also reducing false negatives from gases that absorb in other wavelengths. It comprises a 1-Touch Level/Span that improves contrast between the gas compound and the background scene, further minimizing false detection. It also offers FLIR-patented High Sensitivity Mode (HSM) to accentuate plume movement for very low-contrast situations. Moreover, it includes a sensitive uncooled detector, enabling the GF77 to deliver methane gas detection capability at around half the price of cooled gas inspection thermal cameras.
