Thanks to an on-site ABB EdgeInsight™ data pump, data will be transferred from the platform's power management system and electrical condition monitoring system to Equinor's OMNIA Microsoft Azure cloud platform. From then on, the live data will be securely streamed to ABB's own Microsoft Azure cloud, where a specialized team will use the data to continuously improve the condition monitoring technology and tools that will be used by ABB's Reliability Services team thus enabling transparency on performance, better predictability, and process optimization.

Toward a model of lighter, more autonomous on-site operations supported by remote and off-site teams

Gradually, ABB will take over the daily condition monitoring of critical electrical equipment, which will be managed off-site by ABB's Reliability Service team in close collaboration with Gina Krog personnel and Equinor's Integrated Operations Center (IOC). Based on the results of this pilot project, the ABB and Equinox teams will jointly explore the possibility of applying the same approach to other equipment.
