Totally compatible with existing systems, the LB/FB Remote I/O Systems from Pepperl+Fuchs are used to connect intrinsically safe NAMUR switching signals and solenoid valve outputs as well as temperature inputs, or the supply of 2- or 4-wire transmitters, proportional valves and positioners. They are installed in the safe area or Zone 2/Div.2, while the specially encapsulated FB Remote I/O can be installed in Zone 1. Both systems employ the same electronic boards in their plug-in modules. The software has also been retained to ensure complete integration with established control systems. Standard buses, such as PROFIBUS, Modbus or industrial ETHERNET are available for the connection to master systems. The new, redundant base units render separate redundancy units superfluous. The units can also be used in non-redundant applications.
