Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes (EEIP) has been from its start a pioneer in promoting industrial energy efficiency in most up-to-date ways using the global leading-edge communication trends and tools. Since 2010 we have effectively and efficiently promoted energy efficiency ideas, innovation, best practices, events, engagements, and forward looking policies on social media, and especially on Twitter where most of energy efficiency conversations are happening.

We have grown our network to over 100,000 members and established EEIP as the global leader in communications on energy efficiency. In summer this year new revolution in using social media to energise energy efficiency and energy transition communications is happening. Coordinated by Vattel (one of the finding partners behind EEIP) and Leonardo Energy (European Copper Institute) a completely new approach in using social media for energy transition has kick-started in June 2016.

Collaboration is the key word for using social media now. Following building audiences in what EEIP has been most effective, in order to support EU policies on energy efficiency, renewable energies and energy transition a broad community between associations and organisations committed for energy transition has been established.

Twitter for Sustainable Energy (#Tw4SE) group started with interest and involvement of over 40 different sectors and advocacy groups. First tasks included support and training on effective use of Twitter given by Vattel, building up glossary of prefered Twitter hashtags and terms for the most important energy transition terms and popular technologies, and establishment of collaborative communication tools.

This joining of many into energy transition EU ‘force’ is the major leap forward for supporting, sharing best practices and advocacy of energy efficiency. If you are on Twitter join us by sending a message or comment using the #Tw4SE hashtag.
