Measuring 15 × 24.92 mm, including the PCB pins, Phoenix Contact’s M12 plug connector with an integrated Mini-B USB insert is especially suitable for space limited applications. These include applications for data acquisition/logging in onboard systems, visual systems, industrial monitoring cameras as well as for testing and measuring instruments. The molded cables fulfill IP65/IP67 protection rating. The M12 housing offers protection against heavy knocks and blows and can withstand corrosive environments. The connector has an integrated grounding spring contact, which connects the connector to the metal housing. This ensures a continuous ground path, therefore achieving optimum shielding. Additional measures are not required. The PCB plug connectors can be mounted directly onto PCBs, thus eliminating the need for such additional components as soldering lug connections. Equipped with the Speedcon quick connection system, they can be locked with just half a turn, slashing installation time by up to 90% in comparison with conventional thread connection systems. The plug connectors boast a data transmission rate of 480 Mbps, complying with the USB 2.0 standard.
