12 A three-phase servo drive and more
Performance for smart logistics applications in a compact design
3D printing in companies is booming. Design engineers are printing special components and wear-resistant parts themselves without further ado. However, the projects stand or fall on the quality of the printing material, warns Jonas Burk, Head of Additive Manufacturing at igus. The fact that 3D printing with high-performance polymers from igus is worthwhile is not only proven by the service life tests. Customers can also manufacture their products more economically and faster than injection moulding.
For industrial quality control and defect detection
Reliable object detection up to 3 m distance, regardless of angle and colour
Easy-to-mount single axis sensor for simple switching tasks
Reliable pallet and workpiece carrier positioning in automated systems
For precise detection of small and irregularly shaped objects
At the first Linde Automation Summit, which took place in Aschaffenburg, on 12 and 13 November, the company and its partners shared insights on the transformation of the intralogistics sector with pan-European customers, consultants, & trade press
For precise object detection and collision protection
Flexible, modular workpiece transport can bring valuable extra speed to automated assembly with free pallets. Scalability is also enhanced, while built-in tracking provides traceability data to meet the requirements of demanding industries such as automotive.
Cost-effective connection for digital signals in applications with moderate requirements
Addition to the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio mainly in the range of 24 and 48 V motors for intelligent, battery-powered drive solutions.
Maximum productivity requires not only precision manufacturing processes, but also smooth disposal of the generated waste materials. This is exactly where the new, fully automated waste disposal solution from KABELSCHLEPP Hünsborn comes in, which has just been successfully commissioned at the factory of agricultural machinery manufacturer AGCO Fendt in Asbach-Bäumenheim, Germany. The intelligent conveyor system ensures a smooth flow of materials – with minimum use of personnel and maximum efficiency.
Safeguarding danger zones at machines, AGVs and robots
Cost-effective solution designed for performance and reliability
The supply of a 3,000 hp frequency inverter for large shredder plant at S. Norton Group in Manchester helps with significant reduction in energy consumption
LiDAR Technology Detects Conveyor Belt Loads in 3-D
Today’s sophisticated industrial robots embody millennia of imagination and decades of engineering effort
Realising a compact harvesting vehicle with energy chains
Providing access to sensor data without the need for cables
Fast and wear-free short circuit protection for motors
The Volume3D volume detection system precisely measures the load on conveyor belts using LiDAR sensors, an evaluation unit, and a rotary encoder. It detects volume, volume flow, and many other data while simultaneously monitoring sensor contamination.
Variable frequency drives available as one and two axis modules
For modern automated systems, those responsible are faced with the challenge of finding efficient cabling solutions that fulfil both the high performance and data transmission requirements. Traditional cabling systems often provide for separate cables for these purposes, which leads to increased effort and higher costs. One Cable Solutions (OCS) solve these challenges and thus also meet the growing requirements of the IIoT.
Achieve greater warehouse & production efficiency
The transformation to e-mobility requires powerful automation technology. The companies in the Pepperl+Fuchs Group are offering the right solutions—based on constant technological innovation and decades of experience in the automotive industry.
Simple set-up and configuration with USB-C interface
Premium motors go beyond state-of-the-art energy efficiency to deliver a combination of performance, reliability and commitment to sustainability tailored to suit a wide range of industrial operations. The latest addition to the portfolio is the world’s first magnet-free motor to reach the anticipated IE6 hyper-efficiency level.
Tailored solutions through configuration process with just three parameters
While automating processes using robots is a reliable way to increase production throughput and productivity, the savings in floorspace can vary depending on the type of robot chosen. Where space is at a premium, a ceiling-mounted orbital robot can offer a suitable solution.
Regal Rexnord, announces that the LEESON brand of Regal Rexnord will expand significantly as Marathon® NEMA® AC induction motors below 182T frame size are welcomed into the LEESON products family.
Expensive machine and vehicle breakdowns due to undetected faults in heavy-duty fixed flange bearings: these will soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new generation of two- and four-hole fixed flange bearings. Their special feature is that the bearings, which are made of lubrication-free high-performance plastic, are equipped with miniature wireless sensors, enabling condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
With its radar imager, Balluff scans through packages for completeness, integrity, and foreign objects. Customers can benefit from efficient, in-line quality control at the end of the line.
Today, the majority of consumer goods and everyday items are made from petroleum-based plastics. In Germany alone, around six million tonnes of plastic waste is generated every year. About half of this is mechanically recycled into new materials; the rest is used for energy recovery. The incineration of this waste results in the release of CO2, a greenhouse gas. It is therefore important to keep more plastics in the material cycle for climate and environmental reasons. Eight Fraunhofer Institutes are developing new ideas and processes to significantly improve the mechanical recycling rate of plastics as part of the Waste4Future flagship project.
