Designed for non-contact measurement of temperatures in the range between 700 and 1800°C, the CTratio 1M ratio pyrometer from Optris guarantees precise measurements even when the field of view is severely blocked, for example by fumes. It is used in applications with ambient temperatures up to 250°C where the measuring head requires no cooling. In contrast to traditional connections, multi-fiber cables with up to 22m length are highly break resistant allowing the pyrometer to be installed in difficult-to-access areas and maze-like production environments. Other advantages are 5 ms response time and an integrated laser sight to mark the actual spot size. Measurements remain accurate even when the degree of soiling of a sight glass is >90 %. Reliable measurements are possible even if the target object fills only 5 % of the spot size, or if it moves very rapidly. In the standard package, the measured values are output as analog data. Alternatively, USB, RS232, RS485, CAN, Profibus DP, and Ethernet digital interfaces are offered.
