Optris's infrared cameras feature USB connection for easy handling. Acting as a USB to Ethernet adapter, the USB server Industry Isochron now makes it possible to bridge distances significantly longer than 20 meters between the PC and a PI series thermal imaging camera. The USB server is a joint development of Optris and electronics components manufacturer Wiesemann & Theis. It has been designed specifically for the optris PI 160, PI 400 and PI 450 infrared cameras. At a rate of up to 100 Mbit/s it can transmit even the high-resolution thermal imagery recorded at 27 Hz by the PI-4XX series. The USB server also features remote configuration by web-based software. The device is compatible with USB 2.0 and can be powered via PoE or external voltage supply up to 48 VDC. It supports the TCP/IP protocols including routing and DNS. It is the right tool for automation solutions as the link with the PI camera is automatically restored on every system restart.
