Industrial weighing specialists Precia-Molen UK have recently supplied a weighing system to a luxury motor boat manufacturer based in Kidderminster.

Sealine International Ltd have been designing and building boats for over 30 years and they are currently one of Europe's largest production luxury boat builders, producing over 300 boats a year.

One of the few boat builders who run an entirely in-house operation their facilities span a fully integrated 14-acre site, including a state-of-the-art design and development centre, technologically advanced lamination plant, and purpose built customer facilities.

Precia-Molen have supplied a weighing system which provides Sealine the ability to weigh a boat during manufacture and fitting out. Each boat is loaded by crane or hoist into a cradle resting on the weigh pads. The weights can then be recorded at appropriate stages of the manufacturing process to ensure that the weight distribution and centre of gravity, as anticipated by the design, are within acceptable limits. This allows adjustments to be made if required to ensure that the complete boat meets its performance specifications.

Precia-Molen supplied WWS -D wheel weighing platforms 900 x 500mm wide in a four pad configuration. Featuring a low profile aluminium structure and integral on/off ramps the WWS system allows Sealine engineers to scroll through the load on each pad, including the total weight on all four pads.

Sealine International has been very pleased with the new weighing system. Oliver Burdick - Naval Architect, commented ''The weigh pads give us the ability to constantly monitor and assess the overall weight and distribution of; a new boat in development, allowing accurate mass calculations long before it gets on the water and important weight data for future boat development. Plus, invaluable quality control data for boats already in production.''
