The magnetic position sensors for analog polling of pistons on pneumatic cylinders from SICK are now suited for cylinder strokes of up to 256 mm. Featuring possible detection ranges from 32 mm to 256 mm, the MPS offer a maximum amount of flexibility. Electrical adjustment of the measuring range achieves optimum resolution and linearity with respect to any construction length. Since the housing design minimizes blind zones, losses in stroke are avoided. In this way, short-stroke cylinders can be used for their entire piston travel.  These sensors offer a scan rate of 0.5 ms. Therefore, machines with fast cycle times can benefit from analog distance measurement.
