EBE sensors + motion is expanding its portfolio of capacitive input systems for industrial control concepts with the TCRC. The solution addresses the increasing demands of mechanical engineering for durable, wear-free user interfaces that function reliably even under demanding conditions. The TCRC sensors combine sophisticated signal processing with robustness and excellent immunity to interference. This enables safe operation even in environments where conventional touch technologies reach their limits.

The systems ensure precise and error-free input on production lines, machine tools, test benches, and protected industrial enclosures - even in the presence of dirt, dust, oil films, or moisture. Functions remain stable and clearly detectable even when operated with gloves or when there is a film of water on the surface. The technology reliably differentiates between intentional user actions and potential false triggers caused by condensation or water spray, particle contamination, and electromagnetic interference sources. It is based on proprietary EBE corTEC® technology, an adaptive capacitive sensor electronics system that evaluates the slightest changes in the electric field. This ensures stability even in the presence of relevant influencing factors such as temperature fluctuations or electromagnetic influences, typical challenges in industrial control systems. The touch-sensitive modules operate wear-free, without force and with high response speed, which supports ergonomic operating concepts and increases the service life of human-machine-interfaces.

Flexible integration and robust design

For integration into industrial operating concepts, TCRC sensors can be used behind glass or plastic surfaces, enabling closed designs. The components, with a size of 30 × 30 mm (1.18 x 1.18 in), are compact and versatile, and can be used in control panels and machine controls as well as in mobile industrial units. Thanks to comprehensive encapsulation, the systems achieve protection classes up to IP67 and retain their functional reliability even under continuous load. Development engineers also have access to a fully equipped evaluation kit with software and a PC interface, which can be used to directly test sensitivity, functionality, and system integration and adapt them to project-specific requirements.
