TKD Kabel is expanding its portfolio of CPR-compliant cables with two new product families. The halogen-free power, control, connection and interconnect cables are therefore suitable for all fire-prone areas as well as for facilities where many people live or work or where high-value property needs to be protected.

Optimized fire protection properties

Depending on their dimensions, cables in the FLAME-JZ/OZ-H FRNC 0.6/1KV product family are available in fire behaviour classes B2ca or Cca. According to the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR), Cca stands for moderate flammability. Cables in this category meet basic fire protection requirements. The next higher class, B2ca, includes cables that are low flammable and contribute only minimally to the spread of fire.

TKD uses a special halogen-free compound as the material for the outer sheath and core insulation. This means that the new FLAME cables also achieve high ratings for the additional qualifications of smoke development (s1, the highest level), burning droplets (d1, the second-best level), and acid release (a1, the highest level). The cables have been developed for both fixed installation and flexible applications without tensile stress and without forced guidance. They are suitable for use in dry and damp rooms as well as outdoors.
The FLAME-JZ/OZ-CH FRNC 0.6/1KV product family has the same properties. These cables are additionally shielded and are available throughout in fire protection class B2ca.

The two new product families complete the TKD portfolio of flame-retardant power and control cables for the 300/500V and 0.6/1KV ranges. With CPR ratings of B2c and Cca, TKD Kabel offers the range with the highest fire protection currently available on the market.
Since July 1, 2017, products relevant to building construction must comply with the fire safety regulations of the European Construction Products Regulation. Cables are considered construction products if they cannot be removed from a building without construction work.
