FLUX GmbH has announced the launch of IND-ROT-G, a guarded, IP67-rated addition to its IND-ROT inductive rotary encoder series. The new series gives design engineers true absolute position feedback in a compact format, with the environmental protection needed to operate in dusty, wet and contaminated conditions.
Compact option with high protection
The IND-ROT series has built its reputation on compact, lightweight absolute encoders with the robustness of FLUX’s inductive technology. The IND-ROT-G builds on that foundation with a design rated to protection class IP67. It gives engineers a compact encoder option for systems exposed to moisture, liquids and heavy contamination, without moving to a larger encoder format. It is available in four sizes, with outer diameters ranging from 55 mm to 96 mm and delivers true absolute position feedback with up to 21-bit resolution. It is built to perform reliably under high shock, vibration and demanding temperatures.
Stators weigh from just 22 g, so it adds protection without adding meaningful weight to a system. The encoder offers plug-and-play installation with no calibration required and industry-standard interfaces including BiSS-C, SSI and incremental A/B/Z. That makes the IND-ROT-G well suited to applications where space and weight are limited but the operating environment is challenging, including UAVs, stabilized platforms and gimbals, robotic joints, medical robotics, and industrial automation equipment.
