IDS sales reached a record high of 25.9 million in 2011, a plus of 26 percent compared to 2010. The subsidiaries in the US, France and Japan also reported a substantial increase in turnover. The sales in Japan almost doubled, whereas the US and France reported an increase of 21 and 24 percent respectively, compared to previous year's turnover. In total, 68,000 cameras were produced over the course of 2011.
CEO Torsten Wiesinger outlines: "We expect further growth in 2012, particularly, as we will further our competitive edge in industrial cameras with USB 3.0 interface. Our extensive sensor portfolio will be expanded with new high performance sensors from manufacturers like e2v and CMOSIS to complement the new high speed interface".
Jürgen Hartmann, CEO and founder of IDS adds: "To achieve further growth we need a strong base of well qualified staff. We have expanded our cooperation with several universities to ensure that IDS will continue to be employer of choice for young people. Additionally we also partnered with Baden-Württemberg state university, offering one fully funded stipend for students in business administration every winter semester".
Whereas IDS welcomed its hundredth member of staff in September 2011, the total number of employees reached the peak of 107 at the end of December. A significant increase of almost 20 percent compared to 2010.
