For industrial applications and explosive atmospheres, Weidmüller's Klippon TB MH (multi hinge) and TB QL (quarter lock) series of stainless steel enclosures are made of electropolished stainless steel (1.4404/316L) and are available in 12 sizes and three different depths ranging from 220 x 150 x 130 mm (HxWxD) through to 980 x 740 x 200 mm. They comply with ATEX, IECEx as well as the empty enclosures standards EN 62208 and EN 60079. Whereas the Klippon TB MH is protected to IP 66/67, the Klippon TB QL is rated to IP 66. Up to four 3-mm gland plates (6 mm optional) are secured with M6 hexagon-head screws. Designed for -60 to +135 °C temperature ranges, the enclosures are provided with a silicon seal. They are certified with such approvals as ATEX, IECEx, GOST Ex, cULus and Russian Maritime Register. Equipped with welded hinges on both sides, Klippon TB MH offers the flexibility to change the position of the enclosure’s lid to either left or right side. The lid opens to130° and can be removed without any tools. Fitted on either side, the padlock hasp provides additional level of security. The design of the hinges, including integrated height compensation, ensures improved sealing performance and a high compression protection. Klippon TB QL’s lid offers a quick-release lock (quarter lock) and is also supplied with a slit as standard. Opening to 130°,  it can be fully removed, if required. The lid lock on both series is separated from the seal. M6 stainless-steel earth studs are located in the lid and base of the enclosure. A continuous M10 earth stud made of brass (stainless steel optional) facilitates an external earthing solution. Four mounting feet are welded to the enclosure to ensure secure mounting. The enclosures are impact (10 J, ATEX 7J) and corrosion resistant. Supplied ready for connection and – to customer order – fitted with terminals and cable glands, they come with up to four gland plates (and optionally without gland plates). Due to an optimized design the flange plates offer space for the largest possible number of cable entry glands for the respective enclosure size. They also have a first-class finish with rounded corners and chamfered edges. The article number and a description of the article is engraved on both the enclosure base and lid respectively. This design detail makes it simpler for the user to identify and track the enclosure as equally as it helps to ensure the right lid is fitted to the right enclosure body while installing several enclosures.
