 Usability of touch screens in industrial settings is not merely marked by their wear-resistance, robust material, or insensitivity to dust, dirt, and water. Even the very hardest of materials may be of no use when the influences typical to industrial environments provoke malfunctions or initiate unwanted inputs. By using GLASSCAPE technology, RAFI supplies capacitive, custom-designed touch screens, which are suitable for any industrial environment due to their industry-standard electromagnetic compatibility, increased temperature range, and dirt and water resistance. The company offers variants with screen sizes of up to 24". The capacitive multi-touch screens even allow for the operation with work gloves – yet are resistant against faulty entries due to dirt or spray water. The electronic sensing module detects and filters even those operation errors typical to touch screens, prompted by operators leaning on or cleaning the screen. The jointless glass surface – which is insensitive even to aggressive cleaning agents – makes the screen the ideal control and monitoring solution, both, in the harsh environment of the process and production industry and for applications with stringent hygienic requirements. On request, the company assists customers in all industry-standard certification processes necessary for the registration of the end product.
