With version 5.50 of the dataFEED OPC Suite, Softing has added further security mechanisms for communication with Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500, and SINUMERIK One controllers. In addition to TLS encryption and password protection, the OPC Suite now supports user management using usernames and passwords. Softing is currently the first provider among the leading middleware vendors to implement the complete TIA Portal security feature set – a key advantage for companies with increased IT/OT security requirements.

The new functionality is included in all existing licenses covering Siemens PLC or CNC connectivity – no additional license is required. Customers also benefit from free software updates within major releases, as well as complimentary product support and license replacement. The one-time licensing model offers long-term planning security at an optimal price-performance ratio.

Easy-to-use with wide protocol support

The dataFEED OPC Suite Extended combines OPC UA communication, classic OPC, IoT protocols such as MQTT, and modern data storage solutions into one unified platform. It enables seamless connectivity between controllers and cloud, big data, or MES systems. Features like the integrated MQTT publisher and the Store & Forward function for OPC UA improve the robustness and flexibility of data transmission, especially in distributed or unstable networks.

Users benefit from the intuitive interface and wide protocol support, which includes ABB Freelance, B&R controllers, and FANUC.
