Decarbonising industrial activities is key to mitigating climate change – but what happens to the carbon dioxide (CO2) we capture? Permanent sequestration can be difficult and expensive: so what if the captured CO2 could be reused to create a value stream? Whether you choose carbon capture and storage (CCS) or utilisation (CCUS), filtration technology plays a central role in achieving a high-quality end product. nokra GmbH of Baesweiler produces laser measuring systems for contactless measurement of geometric properties as an integral part of the production process. Since the objects being measured can become quite hot, effective thermal management is essential in such systems. This task is performed by extremely flat liquid-cooled heat sinks from CTX Thermal Solutions.
Model GY series are absolute type, high accuracy and non-contact linear sensors employing magnetostrictive phenomena. Compact, mini series, GYcRS series which enables alarm, velocity output, Electronic all-in-one GYSE series, ø 25x22,5 mm profile GYMK series, GYDC-05 controller presenting 1µm resolution, all our line-up can answer t a variety of requirements. Applications: positioning sensor for advanced machinery, displacement transducer in hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders, high linearity liquid level detector.
Studying neutrinos is very difficult as they typically pass through most normal matter unimpeded and undetected. Specialist detectors have to be built to hunt for them. The latest one is called JUNO, located 750m below ground in Jiangmen, China. The project is made possible by 17 different countries with 730 scientists working in 74 Universities and national laboratories. To develop the core part of the detector, the liquid scintillator, ultrafast digitizer cards by Spectrum Instrumentation are used.

Liquid-cooled heat sinks are used in applications where passive or fan-based cooling solutions are insufficient, but effective cooling is indispensable. However, there are major differences between liquid-cooled heat sinks. The optimal production process for the particular application depends on various factors, such as the desired material and coolant, the specified cooling capacity, and the required number of heat sinks.
The measurement of low flow is becoming widely used in many industries. However, the smaller the flow, the trickier it is to control and measure, and finding a suitable flow measuring technology at reasonable cost can prove challenging for both users and flow sensor manufacturers.
