The instruments of the 701160 are primarily used to monitor and switch off systems with thermal processes. In the event of malfunction or when limits are infringed, the system is then placed in a safe operating state. The instruments have a four-digit, seven-segment display and a five-digit alphanumeric display for presenting a wide variety of variables. The universal measurement input is configurable for resistance thermometers and thermocouples, as well as for current and voltage values. It is also possible, with a second resistance thermometer to measure and monitor differential quantities. All device functions and limit values are freely programmable using just the four keys on the front panel, or for even greater convenience, use the setup program via the front-panel interface. A switch-mode PSU supplies the alternating voltage for 20–30VAC/DC and 93–264VAC.
