ABB to Acquire Solution Provider for Continuous Emission Monitoring

Acquisition of Födisch Group will expand ABB’s position in industrial emission measurement.

ABB announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Födisch Group, a leading developer of advanced measurement and analysis solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. The acquisition will strengthen ABB's Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) offering. It will also enhance ABB's competitiveness in technology and innovation. Through the acquisition, ABB will broaden its portfolio to meet customers' most demanding measurement challenges. The Födisch Group has annual revenues of approximately €50 million and approximately 250 employees. The transaction is subject to the customary closing conditions. Financial details of the transaction, which is expected to close later this year, were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Markranstädt, Germany, where it operates a 3,000 m² production facility, and with additional facilities in Germany, the Netherlands and China, the Födisch Group provides solutions to meet the environmental, inspection and certification challenges of many industries. Used in power stations, waste incineration plants, the paper, glass and cement industries, Födisch Group's analysers and dust solutions enable companies to cost-effectively track pollutant emissions.
