Advantech announced that its first Arm-based industrial single board computer, the RSB-3810, powered by MediaTek’s Genio 1200 platform, has officially obtained IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity certification. The 2.5” Pico-ITX single board computer is designed to meet secure-by-design requirements as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) gains increasing attention, reinforcing its readiness for secure industrial and edge AI deployments, also enabling system integrators to reduce certification complexity and shorten time-to-market.
Multitasking-Performance and Enhanced Security Platform for Edge AI
MediaTek's Genio 1200 chipset is at the core of the RSB-3810 and features a robust octa-core CPU configuration. It includes 4 × premium Arm Cortex-A78 and 4 × Cortex-A55 processors, all integrated into an advanced 6nm-class chip. The solution delivers responsive AI inference performance of up to 4.8 TOPS with just 8 watts of power consumption. Integrated 5G and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity further enable seamless, high-speed data transmission for edge applications. By intelligently distributing AI workloads across the CPU and integrated APU, the architecture optimizes overall system efficiency, achieving an ideal balance between performance and power consumption.
The RSB-3810 integrates essential vision and connectivity capabilities for industrial edge applications, including MIPI-CSI and USB 3.0 camera interfaces with a starlight-grade ISP, as well as 4K video processing and multi-display support. GbE TSN ensures deterministic, time-sensitive communication for industrial automation and monitoring, while its design aligns with IEC 62443 standards to provide robust cybersecurity protection for industrial systems. Together, these features make the RSB-3810 a reliable and practical edge computing platform for industrial IoT, robotics, and intelligent surveillance applications.
Flexible OS options
The RSB-3810 offers extensive support for various operating systems, including Ubuntu and Android, catering to diverse development environments for AI and edge computing applications. With the inclusion of MediaTek's NeuroPilot SDKs, edge intelligence is further enhanced through the utilization of APUs within the processor. The RSB-3810's high level of software integration significantly reduces the time and resources required for robotics development, streamlining the process for developers.
Ubuntu Pro Support
To address long product lifecycles and increasing regulatory expectations, the RSB-3810 supports Ubuntu Pro, delivered in partnership with Canonical. Ubuntu Pro provides up to 10 years of long-term security maintenance, kernel updates, and enterprise-grade security services, enabling customers to maintain compliance with IEC 62443 requirements and align with global cybersecurity frameworks such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). This long-term software commitment ensures system integrity throughout deployment lifecycles, allowing developers to focus on core applications while reducing time-to-market and operational and cybersecurity risks.
Looking ahead, Advantech will continue to advance its Arm-based portfolio to meet international cybersecurity standards, strengthening resilience in smart factories, AIoT, and industrial control, and help global enterprises build safer, more reliable industrial computing environments.
