Based on the same chip as the previously introduced SHT2x family of humidity and temperature sensors, the STS21 temperature sensor comes in a DFN package measuring 3x3mm. Developed by Sensirion, it delivers an accuracy of ±0.22°C over 5 to 60°C temperature range. The device is pin and protocol compatible with the company’s SHT21 humidity snsor but has a different I2C address. It can thus be used as an alternate to STH21 in applications where temperature measurement is required and humidity measurement is optional. The temperature sensor is fully calibrated and provides a digital output.
