The Ex-i repeater power supply / input isolating amplifier from Jumo is designed for intrinsically safe Ex-i transmitters and mA current sources that are installed in both Ex areas and non-Ex areas. 2-wire transmitters are supplied with energy. 4-wire transmitters and mA current sources (0/4 to 20 mA) can be connected through the non-feeding input. The mA measured values are available in the non-Ex area at the output as 0/4 to 20 mA in active or passive signal operating mode. The output can also be used with a 0/1 to 5 V voltage signal by means of a DIP switch at the front. The digital communication signals of the connected HART-capable transmitters can be overlaid on the analog measured value on the Ex or non-Ex side and transmitted bidirectionally. To increase the HART impedance with low resistance systems an additional resistor can be added to the output circuit with a DIP switch at the front of the case. The device has three-way electrical isolation and the energy supply is designed for a wide range (24 V to 230 V). This makes it easier to plan the electrical supply with certainty. With its narrow overall width of 17.5 mm the Ex-i supply/input isolation amplifier saves space in the control cabinet. It can be installed in protection type "n" (EN 60079-15) in Zone 2. The SIL approval according to IEC 61508 allows for use in safety-tested applications up through SIL2.
