With a growing focus on decentralized energy production, bio-gas, landfill gas and gas from purification plants are all becoming increasingly important. The composition of such gases varies and as a result the combustion properties fluctuate. Motors that are configured for standardized fuels can suffer damage or fail to become fully operational. The solution to this problem lies in cylinder pressure based motor control, as already used and proven in large gas/diesel motors. As biogas plants and small scale heating and power plants are introduced, there is a need for cylinder pressure sensors of the appropriate form and size. The company has responded to this need with the development of cost effective sensors in M10 size. Despite the reduced dimensions, the smaller sized sensor has all the advantages of the series M14 cylinder pressure sensors. The thin film pressure capsule in TiON technology and the flame proofing ensure an extended service life and the quality of the signal for thermodynamic evaluation.
