Harting's MicroTCA backplane connector was tested and approved for usage with a conduction cooled MicroTCA system. These tests were conducted by the PICMG, a leading standards organization for the communications, industrial and embedded computer industries. The test proved that it can be used in harsh environments and that it is a suitable platform for industrial and transportation applications. It also passed the environmental test according to the draft specification MTCA.3. The card edge connector meets the stringent environmental requirements for defence and aerospace applications where extreme vibrations, shock and strong fluctuating temperatures occur.
