After certification audits for two medical standards in April 2019, Schurter is the first company that successfully passed the initial certification for the medical standard according to DIN EN ISO 13485, and the new occupational health and safety standard according to DIN ISO 45001. Thanks to the successful certification of the medical standard, Schurter can now develop improved processes and product quality with a competitive advantage that allows to address customers from the medical technology segment who benefit from the optimized processes.

Regarding occupational health and safety, the new DIN ISO 45001 standard, that replaces the previous OHSAS 18001 standard, will provide increased consideration to the health aspect. This new standard insists on delivering safe and healthy workplaces to avoid work-related injuries and illnesses, and to improve safety and health performance at work. The two new standards will be subject to annual monitoring audits in the future.
