With TwinCAT 3 – eXtended Automation, Beckhoff integrates the TwinCat programming environment in Microsoft Visual Studio. The eXtended Automation Technology (XAT), makes dynamic PC-based control software available. In addition to the object-orientated IEC 61131-3 extensions, the programming languages of the IT world are available via C and C++. Matlab®/Simulink® facilitates are also present in this flexible engineering environment. The software modules can run in different languages within a common runtime. The runtime operates under demanding real-time conditions with the use of multi-core technology and the support of 32- or 64-bit operating systems.
