Omega Managing Director Elected as Vice President of the Institute of Measurement and Control

Omega Engineering announces that its Managing Director, David Tipton, CEng FInstMC, has been elected for a three-year term as a Vice President of the Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC), effective from 1st January 2017.

Throughout his career, David Tipton has been involved in developing and applying measurement & control solutions in process industries globally, holding positions in R&D, services & commissioning, sales, product management and for the last 20 years, at an Executive/Director level with companies of note in the industry. 

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute, David Tipton is also a registered with the Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) as a European Engineer.

David Tipton commented on his appointment “I am passionate about our profession and have always encouraged colleagues to join the Institute and have mentored them accordingly. I am concerned that we are not attracting enough engineers at all levels to become involved in our profession and our Institute. Over the years, I have personally observed the benefits of academia and industry working closely together and I will be actively engaged in developing the Institute of Measurement and Control as the Institute of choice for engineering professionals operating in our technology arena”.
