The new R305 area sensor from Pepperl+Fuchs is a retroreflective sensor with 5 light beams and a total detection height of 60 mm. The sensor technology is ideal for a wide range of applications in intralogistics or packaging technology, whenever flat and/or irregularly shaped objects such as polybags or the smallest packaging need to be detected reliably. Due to additional innovative functions and with the help of the integrated IO-Link interface, the R305 can be ideally adapted to the conditions of the respective application and easily put into operation.

Integrated conveyor belt suppression

 Other important functions include individual beam blanking in mechanically difficult environments and the detection of object height for subsequent sorting or qualification processes. The height information is transmitted via the integrated IO-Link 1.1.4 interface as diagnostic data. Even the smallest objects with a height from 2 mm are easily detected. In addition, an integrated conveyor belt suppression can be switched on if required, which compensates for minimal errors in the conveyor belt and thus considerably simplifies the adjustment and commissioning of the sensor technology.

By means of Auto-Teach and Smart Signal Compensation, maximum detection reliability is achieved during operation even under difficult conditions. The sensor is the all-rounder for all difficult detection tasks.
