The PO2211 sensor consists of a differential microcoil transformer that is integrated on a silicon chip together with the associated electronics, leading to a robust and very compact sensor. The differential inductive sensor has a high immunity against magnetic and electromagnetic perturbations, does not need a bias-magnet and works with ferromagnetic as well as with electrically conducting gears and discs. These features make the sensor ideal for applications where magnetic sensors fail or show reliability problems.
