DuraSense from Schaeffler is an automated and requirements-based relubrication system made for linear recirculating roller bearing, ball bearing and guideway assemblies. It aims to provide optimum lubrication at anytime with longer machine operating times and reduced maintenance costs with minimal outlay. It also reduces lubricant system malfunctions and failures due to contamination, and saves up to 30% on lubricant.
Continuously monitoring the lubrication conditions
The system comes with a guide carriage with specifically developed sensors, as well as an electronic evaluation unit that enables up to seven sensors to be connected for monitoring the lubrication conditions of the guide carriage. Three relubrication options are available: the basic development stage allows the system to be used to monitor, assess and optimize manual relubrication, while the DuraSense sensors and the relubrication system work independently. The automatic variant connects the sensors and the lubrication system in a single control feedback loop. The third variant enables to continuously monitor the lubrication conditions and to adjust the relubrication function.
