Delta center needs to constantly eveolve due to the IoT, the finest solution has been provided at the Delta Data Center Solution Day (DDCS) in Poland. The 5G Technology is in daily discussions for the entreprises, therefore the IT specialist needs to construct reliable and robust data centers. Part of the answer for the 5G and IoT evolution has been to use the Cloud and edge computing. This event was adressing these challenges as part of a global event series. Numerous leading experts in the data center space we present like Rakesh Mukhija, managing director of MCIS for the EMEA region Delta, Luca Beltramino, Vice President, Global Programs at the Uptime Institute and finally Andrzej Borowski, Data Center design specialist at ARUP. Data center partners were present to hear Delta’s insights and global success stories, the event was held for the third time in the EMEA region, in several other cities during this year for example in Madrid, Hong Kong, Moscow, London or Singapore.

Data center and IoT changes

One of the leading data center experts Mr. Mukhija opened the day with a welcoming speech for participants, Michal Semenjuk added an overview about the transformation of IoT over the years and the impact on Data Center. IoT devices generate data with low latency requirements and the edge computing is needed to analyze and take local actions. Then, the data are send onto the cloud for analysis, collected, filtered and aggregated. Those requirements create difficulties for bulding creation. The power density of edge servers can result in more power consumption being spread over a limited footprint. The hyper-converged nature of the infrastructure gives a need of high resiliency to keep all the equipment in the best shape. The challenge is to deploy in pace with the growing applications/businesses and edge computing resources in companies the IT capabilities. Finally, the recent CIO survey the three R challenges of Reliability, Resilience and ROI are what businesses struggle with most when it comes to data center design, construction, and operation. Indeed the demand of Data center capacity keeps rising since the IoT is here making these issues even more critical.
