A poll on information sources for sensor and measuring technology The information source used most often by developers is the Internet, followed by personal contacts, trade fair visits, and articles in journals. Last were the social networks which, it seems, do not play a role in research and development.
Asked about the worth of different sources, expert discussions and lectures, were considered the most important thus personal contacts and networking. Also deemed relevant were trade articles dealing with technical principles and user-oriented product reports. Banner advertisements and webinars do not count as particularly informative. The results of the poll indicate that personal contacts and networking are still essential in the world of technical innovation.
