At Hannover Messe 2019, Bosch Rexroth and BigRep, a supplier of large-format 3D printers, presented their new 3D printer called the BigRep PRO. This 3D printer is equipped with automation solutions from Bosch Rexroth and connected via 5G. it aims to establish 3D printing as industrial production technology, in the sense that automated additive manufacturing can produce prototypes and models but can also fit serial manufacturing.
Detects wear and errors for lower downtime
During the fair, the BigRep was showcased with additional IoT software, devices and intelligent sensors. These solutions monitor the machine conditions, improve the quality of the printed components and consequently, improve the product quality. Moreover, the software can detect wear and errors before they lead to machine downtime.
