Based on the proven program VC Smart Reader for Data Matrix codes, the VC Barcode Reader from Vision Components ensures the quick and reliable detection of 1D codes. Originally developed for reverse vending machines in the beverage industry, the software tool reliably detects all standard barcodes and is therefore suited for use in all industry branches. The software is optimized for use with intelligent cameras, particularly the nano series. The position of the barcode does not influence code recognition or readout: an improved search algorithm finds the barcode in any position with a ±30° deviation range, while allowing for two rotational positions. The barcode reader operates with subpixel accuracy and can thereby detect even very thin lines. Moreover, the device can be used independent from lighting conditions: even barcodes with poor contrast are reliably detected. The software already features standard barcodes such as Code25, Code39, EAN-13 (GS1-13) and EAN-128 (GS1-128), and further barcodes can be easily implemented with minimal programming effort.
