Offering motion system designers an option to arrest electrical current, Zero-Max CD couplings are designed with composite flex elements that are nonconductive in addition to their primary function. Also protecting from stray electrical current, they guard generators in a system against transferring lower reaction loads to the generator bearings. The coupling’s composite discs withstand all types of environmental elements, including temperature extremes from -40 to 70°C, moisture and chemicals. Additional operating features include zero backlash, which is ideal for reversing loads smooth operation at high speeds, as well as compact size with a clamping system that fits most applications. The couplings have very long life cycles and require less replacement over time.Available in many models and sizes, including custom designs for unusually large and challenging applications such as wind turbines, they are environmentally friendly and are manufactured from RoHS compliant materials. Standard models and sizes include single and double flex models with clamp style hubs with or without keyways. The torque capacities range from 40 to 1,436 Nm and beyond with speed ratings from 4,400 to 17,000 RPM.
