A compact component for hydraulic applications, the control unit type CAN-IO 14 from HAWE Hydraulik SE can be used on its own as a fully fledged control for valves and for processing data from joysticks and sensors. For this, users can freely program their own individual requirements and load them to the device via the CAN bus. As a CAN bus slave, the control unit provides the ideal enhancement for CAN bus-enabled controllers such as the company's type PLVC programmable logic valve control. In this case it functions as a peripheral input and output node, receiving commands from the controller via the CAN bus and sending back the values of the inputs. This reduces the cabling expenditure for controlling distributed valve blocks of mobile machines. The unit has four proportional and four PWM outputs, enabling up to four twin solenoids to be controlled. The six analog inputs can be switched between 0-10 V and 4-20 mA. Since all outputs can also be used as inputs, it is also possible to use this control unit as a dedicated input node, for example for monitoring the supporting of construction machinery in conjunction with proportional directional spool valves of type PSL CAN. Protected to IP67, the unit operates over 40 to 85°C and is, thus, suitable for harsh outdoor applications. Measuring 60x60x30 mm, it takes up little space. The parameterizing and diagnostic tool VT is also included.
