Whether it's electromobility or energy storage, the ability to measure high direct current voltages safely and connect to safety-oriented controllers is in demand. Knick has developed the P45000 high-voltage transducer for this purpose. It can be used in a variety of industrial applications, including test bench setups for battery and electric vehicle storage systems, and hydrogen production processes. The transducer provides a 4...20 mA output for connection to industrial control systems.

Created for tough application conditions

The compact and robust P45000 can withstand high application temperatures and vibrations, making it ideal for use in harsh operating environments. As a functionally safe high-voltage transducer, it is certified for use in SIL 2 systems and, redundantly, in SIL 3 systems. This enables it to detect dangerously high voltages and ensure the safe shutdown of systems in the event of a fault. Designed for measuring high direct current voltages of up to 3,900 V DC and AC voltages of up to 4,500 V AC peak, the transducer has a type test voltage of up to 20 kV AC. It offers protection up to a rated insulation voltage of 4,800 V AC/DC.

Space-saving installation options

Thanks to its innovative design, the P45000 series can be installed horizontally, vertically or in a stacked configuration, and can also be arranged on 35 mm DIN rails to save space. Optional partitions between the transducers extend the clearances between adjacent connections and prevent errors when assembling the ring cable lugs. For particularly limited spaces, Knick offers the P45000 with permanently factory-encapsulated cables at the high-voltage input, eliminating the need for clearances and creepage distances.

Knick's precise specifications and documentation make it easy for developers and planners to check the signal conditioners' suitability for their respective applications in advance and integrate them.
