The Sirius M200D motor starter from the Siemens Industry Automation Division, uses a multi-vendor, device-independent Profienergy profile, which has been standardized according to the Profibus User Organization. This motor starter allows shutting down individual machines or entire production sections from a central control system via Profinet communication, thus saving energy in the production process. These motor starters are available as direct or reversing starters, with both mechanical and electronic switching up to 5.5 kilowatts, each with optional brake control or local hand-held device.
