Multifunction Modules

An increasing number of users requires products to carry out several safety functions without needing the complex management of a safety PLC or the complex wiring of many traditional safety modules. Pizzato Elettrica’s GEMNIS CS MF series of pre-programmed electronic modules are suitable either for specific customers’ applications or for generic safety macro-functions. Eight pre-programmed modules are available for generic macrofunctions commonly addressed to the industrial sector. Ready to use, they do not need any software to be installed and be managed. The multifunction devices are provided with various inputs, which are evaluated by an application program to activate safety or signaling outputs. In order to reach the highest safety levels, they have a redundant, self-monitored structure, including two processors which continuously check the system in a coordinate manner. Moreover, the modules feature green LEDs for I/O status indication and also two red/blue LEDs to highlight the processor status or any faults. The inputs can be used to monitor different types of external devices. All modules in the series are able to provide circuit solutions at SIL3 (EN 62061), PLe (EN 13849) or category 4 (EN 954-1) levels.
