TorusGear by MS-Graessner is a completely new developed gearbox. The gearbox is steering the Mars camera CaSSIS for the first high-resolution images of the Red Planet, with a spectacular view of the surface. TorusGear ensures the high-precision rotation of the reflecting telescope. This unique planar spiral gearbox has a precise gear ratio of i = 200:1, and convinced the aerospace engineers immediately. The swivel mechanism consists of a hollow shaft mounted on two ceramic bearings and driven by the TorusGear, where the Torus gear wheel is an integral component of the hollow shaft.
Save installation space
The success story is now being continued on Earth. With entirely terrestrial, tangible benefits for you. For example, the compact, backlash-free gear ratio of up to i = 400:1 in a single stage. Thanks to its extraterrestrial experience and requirements, the TorusGear also has significant installation space advantages. Its torsional rigidity and transmission precision are exeptional. One great advantage of the TorusGear is precisely the fact that it can be flexibly adapted to your requirements and wishes in difficult environmental conditions.
